1. Load Or Upload A Track

Pick a seeded historical storm from the catalog or drag a CSV file into the upload area. The CSV must include time, lon, lat, wind, pres, name and may optionally include rmw.

2. Edit On The Map

Drag nodes directly on the map to adjust track geometry. Select a node to edit wind, pres, and rmw in the attribute drawer. Nodes with valid pressure drop and RMW show dashed derived wind radii. Undo and redo operate on committed edits.

3. Validate And Submit

Run validation before submission. The backend checks step distance, translation speed, and wind changes against conservative thresholds to reject obviously unrealistic tracks.

4. Inspect Results

Once the job completes, view surge values as exact coastal markers or as the boundary band following the coastline. Hover for exact values, click for detailed inspection, and download the normalized result CSV.

5. Compare Edit Impacts

Delta compares an edited-track result against the completed result from before that edit. Run a baseline track, edit one or more nodes, submit the edited track, then turn on Delta. The map, hover tooltip, inspector value, maximum annotation, and legend switch to signed surge differences in meters. Recomputing an unchanged track does not create a delta comparison, and Delta stays off until you enable it.
